NEW Format - CPSC Certificate in Fine Art Printmaking

Led by Hannah Webb MA with additional specialist tutors throughout the course.
1 day a week for 31 weeks over 3 Terms. Students must attend all 3 terms.
Course fees are paid in six instalments.
Maximum 8 places.
Description
An opportunity to study printmaking in depth to achieve to the Curwen Print Study Centre Certificate (in Fine Art Printmaking).
• An introduction to diverse printmaking methods, techniques and approaches.
• High level of technical support and individual tuition enabling students to gain competence in a range of processes while exploring and developing their own creative ideas.
• Planned Personal Development Days with tutor support, to revisit techniques and develop your own work.
• Limited to 8 students ensuring good access to equipment and bespoke tuition. Split into smaller groups for complex techniques.
• Continuous feedback and mentoring throughout the course from tutors with end of term assessments for Term 1 and 2 by Hannah Webb.
• Final Assessment in Term 3 with Stanley Jones MBE, Chloe Cheese MA RCA and Hannah Webb of the portfolio of prints developed and produced during the entire course.
• Exhibition and Private View in the Studio at the end of the course.
• Suitable for all abilities.

• Week 2 – Introduction to Linocut.
• Week 3 – Lino - Reduction & Multi Block.
• Week 4 – Lino - Key Block & Jigsaw.
• Week 5 – Personal Development day.
• Week 6 – Letterpress.
• Week 7 – Woodcut.
• Week 8 – Cardboard Cut.
• Week 9 – Collagraph.
• Week 10 – Personal Development day and assessment.
20 April to 6 July (excluding 25 May): 10am – 4pm
• Optional Open Access day 29 June
• Assessment day 6 July

£975 including materials, payable in two instalments.

• Week 1 – Drypoint.
• Week 2 – Hard ground Etching.
• Week 3 – Soft ground Etching.
• Week 4 – Aquatint.
• Week 5 – Personal Development day.
• Week 6 - Aluminum plate including sugarlift.
• Week 7 – Aluminium plate including sugarlift.
• Week 8 – Photo Etching on aluminium.
• Week 9 – Personal Development day.
• Week 10 – Personal Development day and assessment.
7 September to 23 November (excluding 26 October): 10am – 4pm
• Optional Open Access day 16 November
• Assessment day 23 November
• Final Show 28 and/or 29 November (option to add second day)
Term 3 cost
(11 weeks) £995 including materials, payable in two instalments.

• Week 1- Monoprinting with textures/found objects and drawing/painting.
• Week 2 – Screen Printing with paper stencils.
• Week 3 – Screen Printing with drawing fluid & screen filler.
• Week 4 – Screen Printing with photo emulsion.
• Week 5 – Screen Printing with photo emulsion.
• Week 6 – Screen Printing with CMYK separations.
• Week 7 – Personal Development day.
• Week 8 – Photo Plate Lithography.
• Week 9 – Photo Plate Lithography.
• Week 10 – Personal Development day and assessment.
• Week 11 – Group Final Show.

Full payment of the course fee is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until full payment has been received.
If for any reason you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £20 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 1 month before the course start date.
For CPSC Certificate course
Payment for Term 1 is required when booking a place. A reserved place is not secure until this payment has been received. Payments for Terms 2 & 3 will be due at the end of the previous term. Payments for Terms 2 & 3 will be due before the first day of each term.
If for any reason prior to the commencement of the course you are unable to attend, we will refund monies paid minus a £20.00 admin fee, as long as you cancel your place more than 1 month before the course start date. Once you start the course on Term 1 you have committed to all 3 terms. Course transfers are at the discretion of Curwen Print Study Centre.
There is an option to book your place for £100 deposit. If you choose this option your place is secured. The balance of term 1 will be due 20 working days before the start of the course. If you cancel more than 20 working days before the course start date, we will refund monies paid minus a £20 admin fee. If your place is not cancelled during this timescale, and the balance is not paid then the deposit is non refundable. All other Terms & Conditions remain the same.
Curwen Print Study Centre reserves the right to cancel courses – a full refund will be made in these circumstances.
